Route planning

It seems that three months actually is a really short time! Or then there are just too many nice looking tracks in southern Europe. Luckily the climate is making the route planning a bit easier, because the point is to head somewhere with less snow and more sun. So the first step is easy: head to the south :)

Fortunately there is lot of information available about the tracks. Finnish Offroad magazine listed some of the tracks. Then we ordered a location quide made by a German magazine MotoX. It was a really good one listing the tracks, locations, opening hours and facilities. And then there is of course the internet. One can only wonder how people got along before it existed! Plenty of information was available in following sites: http://www.mxbrothers.com/, http://www.mxcenter.it/www.favoritosmx.com/circuitos, http://www.mxcircuit.fr/ and www.motocross.es/circuitos/. And after locating a good looking track it's easy to look for it in the youtube, and see, if the real thing looks as good as the pictures. A Google Earth map listing some of European tracks can be uploaded in http://www.trackinfo.dk/. Our own map is can be seen here: http://tinyurl.com/36eauzq.

Our plan is to relax the first couple of weeks in Murcia region in Spain. The weather there should be perfect for motocross and jogging.. at least compared to Finland. Then we are heading south to conquer MX tracks in Malaga and Sevilla areas. Also a trip to Madrid region is scheduled, if only the weather allows. After that we are going to face the climate and head to Italy through Barcelona, Girona, Montpellier and Nice. Let's see if we are able to make it!

Last year the rider was sick from January to March and then had a quick two weeks training in the beginning of April. The results in motocross were not so great and the speed wasn't there, but 2 hours crosscountry race (with +32 degrees in shadow) went pretty good. So this year looks better starting with three months training for both motocross and enduro.
